Law enforcement studies have shown for the better part of two decades now, that threats of student violence are often posted online hours, days, or even weeks prior to an incident occurs. Ensuring student safety is paramount now more than ever, given the impacts of remote learning over this last year.

Join Lightspeed Systems and Frank DeAngelis, retired principal of Columbine High School for a live webinar on Wednesday, May 26th. Frank will discuss the fateful events of April 20th, 1999 and share the critical lessons learned regarding both response and recovery.

Lightspeed Systems will also share how Lightspeed Alert is becoming an integral part of districts’ safety prevention programs, ensuring student safety by proactively identify student harm before it occurs.

Frank DeAngelis has addressed hundreds of professional and school audiences on the topic of recovery following a school-based tragedy. He has consulted with communities across the country following violent, incidents, most recently Sandy Hook Elementary. He has been recognized as Colorado High School Principal of the Year and was a finalist for National Principal of the Year.

Frank DeAngelis, Educational Consultant

Frank DeAngelis, retired principal of Columbine High School, served as an educator for the Jeffco School District in Littleton Colorado, since 1979, starting as a Social Studies teacher and filling the roles of Head Baseball Coach, Assistant Football Coach, Dean of Students, and Assistant Principal, before becoming the Principal in 1996.  A national-level speaker, Frank has addressed numerous professional and school audiences on the topic of recovery after a school-based tragedy. He has visited, consulted, and assisted school communities across the country following incidents of violence and tragedy, including Platte Canyon, Chardon, Virginia Tech, and Sandy Hook. Frank received numerous awards and recognitions throughout his lifetime of service as an educator. He is presently serving as a consultant for safety and emergency management for the Jeffco School District in Colorado, and continues to travel nationally and internationally, speaking and consulting.
